MUSSELS MARINIERE

perfect as starter or full meal

This dish promises to tantalize your taste buds with its delicate balance of flavours, making it an ideal choice for a sophisticated seafood supper.  Follow the recipe to savour this timeless coastal delicacy.

Ingredients

  • Mussels
  • Celery
  • Shallots
  • Olive oil
  • White wine
  • Parsley
  • Lemon wedge to go on top

Allergens:

  • Crustaceans
  • Sulphur dioxide

Method

  • Sweat shallots, celery and garlic in olive oil using a deep pan
  • Add the mussels and the white wine and cover to simmer until all open 
  • Add chopped parsley
  • Serve and top with a lemon wedge

PS: Never cook opened mussels with broken shells. Mussels must always be cooked live.

Tips: Prior to cooking, rinse the mussels under cold running water and remove the "beard". Remember to only cook the mussels that are tightly closed and with intact shells.
