Banana bread recipe

This was a firm favourite home recipe in the days of lockdown, and we think it's worthy of a place in 2023 too. Tried and tested, indulgent and warming, it's a classic warming winter recipe.

Ingredients 

100g soft butter
100g caster sugar
2 large eggs
200g self-raising flour
1tsp vanilla extract
1tsp baking powder
1tsp bicarbonate of soda
5 bananas, overly ripe (approx. 400g peeled), mashed

Method

Chefs tip: Add in chocolate chips or mixed nuts!
